We have been in the midst of a painful transition of power fueled by hateful ideology. The beneficiaries of this transition have achieved many milestones in 2025 that were previously unimaginable. This is in large part because the rhetoric has taken hold in our families, communities, workplaces, and institutions across the country, resulting in fractured relationships and deep distrust.

Seven of Coins:

The powerful have documented specific long-term goals and have made massive financial investments to achieve them. They have bottomless resources to continue buying influence in politics and society, using every dirty trick in the book. In the age of advanced technology, we are overwhelmed by false narratives that many are consuming without critical thought. 

Ace of Coins:

The power transition itself creates additional financial opportunities, becoming a feedback loop of dirty money begetting more dirty money, all at our expense. Those in power continue to create and exploit new financial opportunities that further impoverish the citizenry.

Five of Swords Rv:

In the upright position, this card represents a win-at-any-cost mentality, which we are certainly seeing in real time. In reverse, this card stands for the consequences we’re demanding for the crimes that have been committed, and for the restitution of civil rights and protections that have been stolen from us. The cards are (literally and figuratively) stacked against us, yet we persist!

Tower Rv:

It’s been a year of personal transformation! Rather than peacefully releasing things that no longer serve you, the universe thought better to chuck it all out for you at once. The rug was pulled out from under you, but apparently you don’t need that rug anymore!

Nine of Cups Rv:

This hasn’t exactly inspired inner peace, but it’s directed your attention to where it needs to be right now. You may feel a bit pissed off but ultimately the changes will bring you some peace. 

Knight of Wands:

When the dust settles from the clearing away of the Tower Rv, you will be entering an exciting phase with new creative or spiritual developments! You will be supercharged with nothing holding you back!

Ace of Wands Rv:

This is a new beginning and opportunity for self-development! The focus is on you and the exciting new direction you’re taking. Take full advantage of this phase and it will take you far!

You have been honing your craft for a lifetime and are proud of your accomplishments thus far. You enjoy looking back and observing the growth you achieved. The person you used to be would hardly recognize the you of today!

Five of Cups Rv:

You have faced your share of setbacks, some out of your control and some from misguided choices, but you have learned the hard lessons. You have learned how to forgive yourself and you know how to continue forward one step at a time.

Nine of Swords Rv:

You have been plagued by very deep fears and anxieties to the point of disrupting your sleep and fogging up your days. You are beginning to let go of catastrophizing, and this card is encouraging you to continue releasing the fear. And as before, forgive yourself for allowing it to take over in the first place.

Four of Pentacles:

Many cultural traditions celebrate gift giving at this time of year, and you may have given generously. Now it’s time to guard your pocket again. Or maybe you received a little cash windfall for the season – hang onto it. No one knows what’s in store, but I keep pulling 4 and 5 of Pentacles giving me the hint that there may be a dry spell ahead.

The Star:

It’s a new moon on the cusp of the longest night of the year, and the star is shining brightly to remind us the sun is about to make its return. You may be in a moment of darkness, but there are sources of light to inspire and guide you if you look for them.

Five of Pentacles Rv:

This card of false poverty shows you might not be looking for inspiration at the moment. Sometimes things just suck, but don’t turn away from the good things in life.

Nine of Swords:

You have been letting stress and worry rule your thinking, and that is understandable. There is a looming unknown and the journey to learn more just seems too daunting and scary.

Queen of Pentacles:

This card is to reassure you that nurturing and taking care of your physical health is necessary and an act of self love. The first steps you need to take will feel the worst, but are necessary for healing and restoring strength.

10 of Pentacles Rv: 

You had big hopes for a prosperous year, but it hasn’t quite turned out that way. You hit way more speed bumps than you ever anticipated, but you’re hanging in there, all things considered.

Four of Wands:

Despite not achieving what you wanted, there is still plenty of reason to celebrate! Gatherings with friends and family will be great medicine. Take advantage of the solstice season and the opportunities to reconnect.

Four of Pentacles: 

Keep a hold on your savings and don’t go crazy with your spending. Less is more for the time being. Give of yourself and gift your creativity rather than your dollars. It might be a little while before you can get back on track financially.

The Luminary Rv:

Unlike The Star of hope after The Tower, The Luminary is the spark that inspires The Fool’s journey! She is the perfect companion for the dark part of the year in the northern hemisphere, bringing light and warmth to the cold months. Showing reversed says you have been dwelling in hopelessness and afraid to make a leap of faith. Let in the little sparks of optimism and acknowledge the small wins to guide you through the darkness!

Judgement:

You feel called to something greater. Maybe this is a sudden new revelation, but more likely it’s been simmering in the background for a while now waiting for a chance to bubble up. 

Page of Cups and Page of Swords Rv:

I’m reading these two together because I see them as a push-pull of the same thing. On one hand (Page of Cups), you feel like you’re ready for anything and the inspiration is flowing. On the other hand (Page of Swords Rv), you’re not putting any of your big ideas into practice. You have the enthusiasm but not the confidence. But look back to Judgement and realize this is not a whim, it’s integral to who you are!

Ten of Wands:

Even so, be ready to bear this heavy load alone for the most part. Though you might have people helping you here and there, the plan and the progress are all you. You are responsible for seeing his through, so pace yourself for the long haul.

The Hanged Man Rv:

You’re feeling stuck or hung up on something. Every day seems like a repeat of the day before and you are not seeing the progress you want. Instead of seeing a new perspective as indicated by the Hanged Man, you’re focused on what you would rather be doing and not on what is right in front of you.

Death Rv:

But this is literally not a life or death situation. You’re still feeling chained down, but the worst is over! You are regaining some freedom from what was holding you back. What you need now is stability and momentum.

Five of Pentacles:

This is all about the attitude of “lacking”. You would rather go without than reach out for help because you don’t want to be seen as needy. But the glow of the window is a reminder that there are people around you who are looking out for you and can help you along. You only need to ask.

TLDR: All suits are represented here, so whatever is going on with you at the moment is effecting your creative/spiritual side, your thought process, your feelings, and your physical or financial security. But seeing as everything is in the realm of minor arcana, this will not be a long cycle.

Two of Wands Rv:

Your plans for a big move or change have been turned upside down. Now you’re reevaluating your plans and seeing which direction is most realistic for you in light of the new circumstances. Get comfortable because you’re not going anywhere for a while.

King of Swords Rv:

As a result, you might be doubting whether your plans were well thought out, but there is no reasonable way you could have seen this new circumstance coming. You might be short on good ideas for the moment, and that’s forgivable. You don’t have to be the leader right now.

Four of Cups:

You may need to pass up a good opportunity that will leave your feeling disappointed. But, again, this is not a consequence of your actions. You did everything you should to prepare for that opportunity, and you’d be perfectly capable of taking it on if not for this current situation creating an obstacle for you.

Eight of Pentacles Rv:

For not you might find yourself retreading the same ground, plugging away at the same old same old when you fully know you’ve *been ready for the next stage. Don’t mistake this for holding yourself back, you’re just maintaining your level best. This is temporary, and these things will turn themselves around.

Queen of Cups Rv:

This weekend is a time of protecting your emotional energy from anyone or anything that could deplete you. Tread lightly with difficult people or situations if they are unavoidable. Give yourself space to recharge and do something that makes you happy.

High Priestess:

I heard something recently that said, “Intuition speaks in statements. Anxiety speaks in questions.” Follow your intuition as you take care of yourself and the tasks immediately in front of you. Ignore the spinning questions and trust that the time and work you previously invested is still manifesting for you while you rest.

King of Cups:

If you accept the advice of the Queen of Cups and High Priestess, you will be able to call upon the emotional control and diplomacy when the opportunity presents itself. Like I said, there may be challenges that force their way into your path but you will be equipped to handle them with grace.

Four of Pentacles Rv:

You may feel like you are being greedy with your time or attention in this moment, but you are simply guarding your resources and protecting yourself. Very few people are truly entitled to your time and effort, and you decide who that is. You can hold boundaries gently and with love.

And yet, there is some kind of monkey wrench in the gears. Something has you feeling deeply disappointed or just really wishing for something different. This weekend, meditate on what this might be and how to process through it.
