Things are going to get *busy*! You may feel overwhelmed, and you may fall behind but you’ll catch the momentum. Set aside anything that isn’t urgent and don’t get distracted by other peoples’ priorities.

You might notice you feel chained to unhealthy patterns like procrastinating, avoiding conflict, or making irresponsible choices. Instead of tackling these challenges head on, you are indulging in unproductive fantasy, which will ultimately pull you further away from your new endeavor.

It’s time to take stock of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Yes, this timeline is psychotic, but what can we leverage for empowerment and resistance? How can we capture childhood curiosity and hope to keep us afloat in the floods of chaos?

This weekend, let’s ground ourselves, and seek out sources of light to guide us into the future.

We’re really hustling, and spending a lot of time working both on the clock and various personal projects. We ought to slow it down just a bit and leave time for the people in our life. Work is never done and some things can sit on the back burner for now.

Knight of Wands:

We are driven by a passion for creative or spiritual endeavors so we may not even feel like we’ve been putting in so much time and energy. The rewards may be material or just the satisfaction of progress, but it’s rewarding nonetheless. Drive is important, but it can take us straight off the map if we’re not careful.

Five of Cups Rv:

We have experienced personal setbacks in this work, and maybe made some less-than-awesome decisions along the way. But we are on a comeback streak, as evidenced above. This is a productive time of year, and we are getting ready for whatever is next. Remember to stay flexible, and be humble in the process because mistakes are important teachers, too.

I’ve been thinking about how we can set the example for others – whether witchy or not. For the week’s cards, I thought about how this theme plays into our current state of upheaval and transition.

Five of Wands:

We are in a spiritual and psychological battle happening in cyberspace and in real life. Our values, beliefs, and bodies are under attack, and we need to choose our acts of resistance wisely. Discretion is critical.

The Fool:

As a community we are taking a leap of faith with every post, every spell, every act of resistance. This card is always a warning and a blessing.

Justice Rv:

Literally justice is reversed. Across the West, our justice systems are becoming inverted so that individual freedoms are being surreptitiously erased while the rights of the state expand almost to totality.

I am inspired Banksy, the notorious – and *anonymous* – graffiti artist. Banksy’s latest work depicted the justice system oppressing the individual. Authoritarian influence is attempting to dominate and disempower us. But this is not a single person, this is a much broader force, like a universal wave crashing into us over and over. 

The Magician:

But we are fuckin magic y’all!! Can’t stop, won’t stop manifesting for the greater good and for ourselves individually. Negative energy is still energy and can be wielded to our advantage!

Four of Swords Rv:

Now don’t be dismayed or discouraged by the lack of visible progress. We move in the shadows, and the wheels of the universe are turning whether we see them or not. 

We cannot throw ourselves into the Emperor Rv’s tide by arguing our point of view endlessly for deaf ears. We take refuge in community. We rest when we need it, eat when we’re hungry, and continue our practice in harmony with the greater good.

Overall this has the vibe of a kid stuck in the middle of a messy divorce. The general advice seems to be to mind our business and not poke our noses in.

Knight of Wands Rv:

On one hand, there’s a personality influencing our situation who is careless, impulsive, and argues just to argue. This can be an extremely frustrating person to be around, and is causing us to walk on eggshells to avoid unwanted attention.

The Hermit Rv:

We are caught between two toxic personalities who are both extremely triggered at the same time. They might be in conflict with each other, leaving us caught in the middle, *or we just happen to be surrounded by jerks at the moment. We are forced to keep a lid on our feelings and avoid saying anything that could set off another tsunami of drama. We have valuable insight into the situation that seems like it could put all this noise to rest, but to say anything would put a target on our back. Best not.

Queen of Swords Rv:

On the other hand, we have a perfectionist who wants everything to be exactly their way, and can be very spiteful when they don’t get what they want! This person has a sharp tongue that cuts deeply, thus we are keeping our wisdom to ourselves.

It’s the last weekend of summer in North America, so I pulled a keystone reading around the Three of Cups for bonding and celebration!

BEHIND US

Eight of Wands Rv:

Information, events, ideas, feelings have been coming at us fast and furious and we have not been able to keep up. It’s been too much all at once for too long. 

Four of Swords Rv:

We have been feeling the burnout and are in desperate need of a break. The little creature pictured in its cocoon is pretty much what we need. We can’t control what’s coming at us, so we can choose how much of it to absorb and let the rest fly by. 

PRESENT

Three of Cups:

Connections, bonding, celebration. This is a moment to let our hair down, let our guard down, and take that break! Meet up for coffee, get a barbecue going, hit the bars – who even cares!! Shake off the ashes!

AHEAD OF US

Three of Wands Rv:

Heading into next week we may be feeling doubtful or like we’re holding back. Imposter syndrome might have us feeling like we’re playing out of our league. 

Seven of Swords:

It’s time to change our strategy! Challenge the “fake it til you make it” narrative: we ain’t faking! We might all be at different levels of careers, healing, manifesting, whatever – but we’re DOING IT! This is the card for getting away with shady shit, and if that’s what it feels like we’re doing, fuckin EMBRACE it because that’s how we get ahead!
