  • Impeachment Proceedings: A Guess 5.18.25

First, let me say, I am happy enough to see the House do *something* about the executive shitshow. I just think the timing is poor given the number of Republican reps needed to effect any meaningful change. It’s a catch 22: if they wait until midterms, they have a better chance of turning more rep seats blue. But if they wait until midterms to take real action, the Democrats risk losing the seats they have. And so, we proceed.

    Deck: Millennial Tarot

Card 1: Page of Swag Rv

Democrats are known for their decorum, but in this case it’s their downfall. At best, they are focused too much on the rules of order and not following their instincts or the advice of their constituents. At worst, they’re following advice of lobbyists and corporate interests to not rock the boat too much.

The guidebook of this deck captures it best, “You must know when to follow the protocols and when to experiment with your own methodologies to execute a strategy that outperforms the rest.”

Card 2: Seven of Swag Rv

The core of this card is that regardless of all the hard work and efforts, it will not succeed. Again, they’re not listening to their constituents, and putting all their eggs in one basket will leave people feeling disillusioned and frustrated. But not hopeless, and that’s important.

    Card 3: Ace of Thoughts

The outcome of the proceedings will inspire a shift in ideas within the MAGA base. The seeds of change were planted in this chaotic first 100 days (refer back to The Tower in my 5.7.25 reading), and the base is feeling burned, swindled, and hoodwinked. The impeachment proceedings are not for nothing. While a failure may alienate “blue no matter who”, it’s also going to mobilize traditional republican voters to differentiate themselves from the fringe MAGA, and it’s going to empower some current MAGAs to walk away and think for themselves. they will not be able to ignore that age old question “are you doing better now than you were four years ago?”

    Conclusion / My Hopes:

Not to be all “kumbaya” about it, but the environment is ripe for strategic — if unconventional — alliances. There’s such a huge opportunity for pissed off MAGAs, trad Republicans, and disillusioned Democrats to form a sort of informal grassroots effort to become ungovernable *together*. Dialogue influences social change. Each group has already shown its prowess in weaponizing media platforms to attack each other, so imagine the influence they could wield together toward a couple of common goals. I am tentatively hopeful that we can pull back from the brink of authoritarianism.

  • Follow Up On Who’s Who of 5.7.25 Pull

Last week’s Hump Day reading has been nagging at me: WHO is under The Sun and WHO is under the Three of Swords?! So I pulled two clarifying cards.

For The Sun, the Queen of Wands jumped from the deck (what is with all the jumping beans lately?!), indicating to me that the powerful feminine spiritual and creative energy will triumph over the previously mentioned King of Pentacles Reversed and The Tower. I felt a wave of relief as we have been under political attack via the entire presidential administration and their Project 2025 scheme that seeks to completely erase an entire century of women’s, LGBTQ, racial, and disability justice. This card tells me unequivocally our determination, resilience, and courage will defeat these efforts to repeal our collective civil rights!!

For the Three of Swords, I drew the Reversed Nine of Swords, telling me the people on the losing end of this moral/social/political battle are people who operate from a core of fear and turmoil and just want ultimate control so they can feel a sense of security. Their behavior is rooted in a fear of losing the material rewards they enjoy, or not getting what they believe they deserve. The people in power have fed and cultivated this fear and hatred so that their followers seethe with rage over anyone who might benefit from any kind of federal program from free school lunch to research grants to disability income to national parks. It’s absurd because we all do better when we all do better. I only hope that the wave of butt-hurt is temporary and people stop being afraid that their neighbors and coworkers are out to get them or get something from them.

  • Hump Day Tarot Forecast 5.7.25

    Deck: Tone Le Lone Tarot

This is a keystone reading. I pre-select a card based on the theme I’m feeling, and that card becomes my keystone. I shuffle the deck with the keystone in it. When the deck feels right, I turn it over and sift through until I find my keystone, then I pull the two adjacent cards in front of it and behind it.

The keystone I chose is The Hanged Man because I wanted to know what I could use a change of perspective on, or what would help me to see differently.

    Behind us

King of Pentacles Rv: Greedy, short-sighted, irresponsible with money, overindulgent, impulsive. Instead of a leader, this figure is overbearing and relies on intimidation to get their way. And they are quite used to getting their way! I’m just gonna say it. This is Trump, 100%!

I noticed the artist added a Marcus Aurelius book as a prop and I find it very interesting. In a nutshell, he was a Roman Emperor who was also a Stoic philosopher during an age of relative peace, calm, and stability for the Roman Empire. He believed vice was the primary evil in the world and that virtue was true happiness. I’m still stewing on this, but it’s basically the antithesis of Trump’s actions and attitudes.

The Tower: Trump’s first 100 days has been sheer destruction for destruction’s sake. We haven’t even felt all of the fallout yet, but everything from constitutional rights to the economy will continue to get worse for a while.

    Keystone

The Hanged Man Rv: Interesting that this one came up reversed. I was looking for the change of perspective this card brings, but this position shows resistance, discontent, and revelations. Certainly all of this is true. What’s being revealed about the goals and priorities of this administration is driving massive discontent, which in turn is driving more and more resistance.

It’s seemed like for every one person speaking out or resisting, I see 10 people attacking them and celebrating the destruction. So maybe the change of perspective is that those of us who are outspoken are not alone.

    Ahead of us

Whatever way this goes, it looks like a win for one group is a loss for the other. The people will still largely be divided along political lines.

The Sun: Joy, optimism, energy, happiness. If the tides are turning in favor of our inalienable rights, then YES! I am ready for the sunshine! But this could also be joy and optimism for those who want more destruction of the constitution, the economy, and the environment.

Three of Swords: This could represent the butt-hurt headed for the president and MAGA overall. However, it could be heartbreak for those of us who want to restore everything that’s been taken away from us and strengthen the guardrails so this doesn’t happen again.

There will be winners and sore losers no matter what, and much more work is ahead of us.

  • Weekend Tarot Forecast 5.2.25

This week’s deck: Northern Animal Tarot

I don’t normally deem this as important information, but I riffle shuffle my cards, which keeps them tidy. So when I get a jumper card I see it as extra prescient. And today this King of Swords SPRUNG so hard he flew up and over my shoulder 😂 So I guess he has something to say!!

Five of Swords: This is my Cartman card, “Screw you guys, I’m goin home!” This is for walking away from losing, and leaving an empty victory on the other end of the conflict. Which side of that dynamic do you find yourself this weekend?

Nine of Cups Rv: Either way, it’s extremely dissatisfying and frustrating. The whole situation has put you at odds with how you normally perceive yourself and you’re worried this is how you’ll be seen by others in the long run.

Five of Wands Rv: Don’t let this become an identity crisis. Lay low and stay out of the fray for a bit. Get back to doing things that align with your true self, have a full mental reset this weekend. This situation will eventually blow over.

King of Swords: I think he showed up here to be the voice of reason and asking us to get back to basics. We can find some sanity by reestablishing a measure of structure in our lives to counteract the chaos. Establish a daily practice of something that aligns mind, body, and spirit: like meditation, a gratitude list, journaling, yoga, divination, even a small affirmation will help you feel more grounded and secure.

  • Weekend Tarot Forecast 4.25.25

    Deck: Modern Witch Tarot

This reading is what I call a keystone reading. I pre-select a card based on the theme I’m feeling, and that card becomes my keystone. I shuffle the deck with the keystone in it. When the deck feels right, I turn it over and sift through until I find my keystone and I pull the two adjacent cards in front of it and behind it.

This week’s keystone is Ten of Swords / EVERYTHING IS FINE 😵‍💫 I feel very much like we’re living a double life: going to work and making small talk and then going home and the world is a dystopian shit show. This is fine.

    Behind You / Not Visible

Temperance Rv: Things are totally out of wack. Fighting, going to extremes. Much of this is obvious, but it goes deeper than what’s on the surface. Truthfully, a lot of us are blocking some of it out because it’s entirely too much.

Two of Wands: There are also some good things happening. Decisions behind closed doors. Unexpected alliances. The first few steps toward real progress. Fingers crossed!!🤞

    Front of You / Visible

Four of Cups Rv: Let the negative energy motivate you to take action – whatever you can do. Take the opportunities presented to you and let go of any guilt or regret. Get pissed and do something!

The Empress Rv: Normally the card of motherly tenderness, abundance, and femininity, I read the reverse in this context as embracing the shadow side of The Empress. Like, full queen bitch monster! Reclaim everything shrill, pushy, unfeminine! Make demands, get loud, take up space, make yourself heard, show up and be ugly because fuck them!

  • Weekend Tarot Forecast 4.18.25

This week Tarot Disassembled seems fitting with what seems like all of Western civilization being taken apart piece by piece.

Knight of Swords to the rescue! I wish. The knight in shining armor isn’t coming to save us, and every time we think we see one on the horizon we are left disappointed.

Three of Swords is the disappointment. This card is all about heartbreak, but it’s the kind of let-down that comes from unrealistic expectations.

Four of Wands Rv is a reminder that we can’t go home again. I mean we *can, but home has irrevocably changed. That leaves us in an uncomfortable present moment where we can’t find comfort in the future *or in the past. We are in transition!

We are becoming the knights who swoop in and save the day. We are hanging onto those three swords of heartbreak for battles yet to come. We will have our homecoming celebration!

  • Weekend Tarot Forecast 4.11.25

    Deck: Housewives Tarot

8 of Wands Rv: It’s all too much, too fast. Things are a bit too chaotic and you’re having difficulty keeping up with everything wizzing past your head at top speed. Shit is crazy!

3 of Pentacles Rv: This is giving “Fuck it I’ll do it myself” energy. Instead of getting cooperation from others, you’re the only one contributing to the group project. You’re sick of waiting for someone else to help so you’re taking on too much.

2 of Pentacles: As a result the of all the above, now you’re juggling priorities and have too many irons in the fire. Contrary to your scorecard of miraculous saves so far, you simply cannot do it all. It’s time to step back and protect your peace before you fully burn out. If something fails, it fails. But it’s more likely that the needed cooperation will finally show up when it’s obvious you can’t just do it alone.

  • Weekend Tarot Forecast 4.4.25

Spring is finally sproinging in the north, markets are crashing, and oligarchs are feasting, so I chose the soft and fantastical Tarot of the Magical Forest. This is one of the first decks I collected and is still a treasured fave. It did not disappoint.

Knave (Page) of Wands Rv: Waning enthusiasm due to setbacks, feeling impatient. Where the upright Knave of Wands is all fresh enthusiasm and rushing ahead, the reversed is like the energy crash or hitting a brick wall in your plans.

The Emperor: BAHAHHAHA I can’t even with this pig on a throne 😹 There couldn’t be a better card to represent a selfish, greedy, gluttonous, authoritarian leadership figure. And this figure is the reason for our Knave of Wands Rv disillusionment. This little piggy has stolen the wind from our sails and is coming for our boat next.

The Hanged Man: We’re hung out to dry, hanging in limbo, and don’t know which way is up. We are beginning to see things more clearly in the upside-down. From this angle, motives have been revealed, the heartless strategy, and the cruel tactics. Nevertheless we’re LITERALLY and figuratively “hanging in there!” More will be revealed. We are resilient and we will find innovative ways to resist and overcome.

  • Weekend Tarot Forecast 3.28.25

    Deck: Heartwood, Version V

The news this past week has left me feeling angry, crestfallen and a bit hopeless, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

This week’s reading is a bit of a stark reality check, and I honestly hesitated to share it. Then I remembered there’s only like 3 people that ever see it so I’m just gonna do it for consistency 🤷🏻‍♀️

Seven of Cups: Illusions, uncertain future, too many options. Everything is so insane right now and you might be questioning how much of what we’re seeing is real, and how much is magical thinking. At work, most of us are relegated to corporate goals, project deadlines, and customer expectations. Then we turn to the outside world where life as we know it is being completely dismantled.

Ten of Swords: Painful endings, dead ends, exhaustion. I can’t even bring myself to expand on that. Y’all know what’s up.

Ace of Wands Rv: Lack of direction, creative and spiritual blocks. Outside this spiritual community, there seems to be a complete lack of leadership to resist all the regression, no strategy for action, and we’re all screaming into the void. The baneful work has been cathartic, gives us some structure, and makes us feel empowered in a dehumanizing world.

  • Weekend Tarot Forecast 3.21.25

This week we’re using Somnia Tarot and it is such a mood!! We’ve got all major arcana in this spread, representing the major forces impacting our lives.

Strength Rv: Abuse of power and violence, authoritarians bending others to their will. This is happening at the highest levels of authority across the world, and every one of us is feeling the pressure.

The High Priestess: This reflects our collective energy manifesting change. We are uniting across the globe and rising up against the patriarchy, oppression and war! We are a force to be reckoned with!

The Hermit: We are each an individual beacon of light in the darkness. We move in the shadows toward a common aim. We each bring our own wisdom, experience, and insights to the collective. We are a rising tide!!
